Dwi Rasy Mujiyanti

My name is Dwi Rasy Mujiyanti. I was born in Gresik, a small town in East Java Province, Indonesia. Born as the second child, the early years of my childhood started in Gresik, before my family finally moved to Lamongan, a district which is about 34 km from where I was born.

I got bachelor’s degree from Brawijaya University (UNIBRAW), after finishing my undergraduate degree, my obsession with science had motivated me to pursue higher education by taking a master Chemistry (S2) at Gajah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta, in 2005. After two challenging years of graduate study in Yogyakarta, I finally graduated in 2007. It was one of the joyous moments in my life, because it meant I have completed an important chapter of higher education that has been one of my goals in life. However, graduating from UGM also meant that the real journey of my life has begun: a journey to accomplish the life goals that I have set and also to make my parents proud of me.

In 2007, I am grateful to be accepted as a teaching staff for the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), in South Kalimantan. As one of the teaching staffs at FMIPA, I was trusted as the Secretary of the Chemistry Department in 2012-2016. And in January 2009 – the December 2020, I was also entrusted with being the Head of the Inorganic Laboratory Section, Laboratory of FMIPA. From 2020-2021, I was also entrusted with the mandate as Chair of the Center for Intellectual Property Rights (Hak Kekayaan Intelektual, HKI), University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM). I have also been actively involved as one of the Editors at Jurnal Sains dan Terapan Kimia (2008-2021). As a lecturer, I actively participate in various programs, both at national and international levels. One of the programs as an international grant (from KARG-AIT Japan) that I received in 2017, where I had this precious chance to travel to Vietnam and learned also shared with the other researchers from the other countries that focuses in technology of water and environmental protection.

For me, learning is a never-ending process. My pursuit of knowledge is an ongoing intimacy that I will have now, tomorrow, and in the future. I hope to keep opening new doors and gaining new experiences from each challenging place I visit in different countries. And in the fall of 2021, I was accepted as a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Engineering study program of the Civil Engineering Department at Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan. I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn and broaden my horizons, particularly with my recent interest’s research in plasma technology for environmental applications.
